Gayler De Vere Legal is founded on the long-term involvement in the Hervey Bay community of its principal Don Gayler.
A desire to return to the country saw Don re-locate to the Hervey Bay / Maryborough region in November, 1980 and he commenced practice in his own right in February, 1982.
Since 1980 Don has been helping clients achieve their dreams, their goals and to solve their problems. He has also been providing a sympathetic ear when things go wrong – he understands that life can throw up problems from time to time, but it is his experience and understanding that gives you confidence when times get tough.
Don has been an active member of the Hervey Bay sporting community and has assisted and advised sporting and charitable bodies. Don understands what community is about – he knows that putting in to your community and helping meet its needs is essential to the advancement of the ideals of community.
Don has seen Hervey Bay grow from a town into the city it is today. He has been active in property development and the management of the legal aspect of large property developments.
After 40 years as a solicitor Don has seen most things and that’s the level of experience and business acumen he brings to the table for clients.
Don has been the Deputy Chairman of the Wide Bay Burnett Electricity Board and his tenure covered the corporatisation of the Board. He was also the Deputy President of the Woodford Corrections Parole Board. Both positions required the input of significant effort and yet attracted a very nominal pay cheque. That’s the type of person you need and want – one who is prepared to go the extra mile and who won’t take a backward step.
